For over a decade, we've opened our home in the Northern California redwoods to writers, filmmakers, musicians, and artists. And over the years, we've heard again and again from our guests how the extended free time and natural environment inspired creativity.
Increasingly, we've come to see the importance of offering this same experience to people working on environmental issues, and the potential in bringing all these thinkers and creatives together. We think it's vital to have artists working alongside environmentalists, not in service to their work but as sources of mutual inspiration.
Now we've joined forces with friends in Woodstock, New York, to offer more free time in nature to more guests. We're calling these pop-up retreats The North Coast Project.
Our residency will provide lodging in a beautiful natural landscape where environmentalists and artists have their own private space to use however they want. Each cohort will consist of a mix of creatives and environmentalists across various fields.
Meals will be provided. Free time and space will be supported. Conversation encouraged.
We know that by putting the right people in the right conditions, we will be incubating the world we want, a world that holds art as a core value and knows that environmentalism should underpin everything we do. By fostering an environment that supports creative thinking and interdisciplinary collaboration, The North Coast Project hopes to support the sort of innovative work we need to create a sustainable and vibrant future.
